O jogador pertencia ao Benfica-POR e estava emprestado ao Botafogo na última temporada. Gabriel foi a quarta contratação do Fluminense para o ano de 2024. Clube também já anunciou Antônio Carlos, Renato Augusto e Felipe Alves.
