“O Nathan não joga há muito tempo. Eu não vou fazer comentário individual. Você fala assim: “o meio campo não rendeu legal, pode ter sentido a falta do Ganso”? Pode ser. Só que um time que toca quatrocentos e sessenta e tantos passes certos, finaliza 21 vezes contra três, não tem comentário. Tem que parabenizá-los (o Santos), eles foram felizes porque eles vieram para essa estratégia. E conseguiram. Eu não sou de falar na palestra antes do jogo e não sou de falar na corrente no final. Hoje eu fiz questão de falar. Porque eu saio daqui orgulhoso. Foi brilhante? Não, mas a minha equipe deixou tudo no campo. Não teve assim: “eu poderia dar mais dois por cento”. Não, não tinha. Eles deixaram cem por cento. Foi motivo de orgulho, nem sempre vai dar. É um grande clube, é um time de camisa, um time pesado, o Santos. Eu saí com o resultado? Não, não queria (esse resultado), tanto que os números dizem exatamente isso. Paciência. No fundo então, eles tiveram a estratégia mais certa. Só que não houve problema de finalização. Abel também falou sobre a arbitragem, que na visão de alguns torcedores, prejudicou o Fluminense por não deixar a bola rolar. Confira:
“Se não for uma coisa absurda, eu nunca vou me manifestar (contra a arbitragem). Você não vai ver nunca eu me manifestar. Mas eu só vou fazer um comentário, que eu fiz com ele (Daronco) – primeiro que eu gosto muito dele como árbitro e como pessoa. Um time que se propõe a defender um que só quer atacar, é um jogo sempre polêmico. Mas o que eu falei pra ele foi o seguinte: “Pô, Daronco, hoje você não parecia gaúcho”. Porque eu já disputei muitos campeonatos no Rio Grande do Sul, e lá o “pau come”. Não tem negócio de faltinha, de encostar. O jogo segue. Mas, só isso. É um grande juiz e acho que se teve algum erro, esse negócio de “picou, não picou”, sei lá. Às vezes você tem que segurar um pouco o jogo porque está quase que ataque contra defesa. Pra não perder a rédea, né? Não vale a pena criticar. Eu podia ter colocado a bola pra dentro, não coloquei. Nós estamos falando, pra mim, de um dos melhores. do Brasil” – completou.
