Com a vitória do Fluminense sobre o Nova Iguaçu, Marcão se despede da função de treinador da equipe na liderança do Carioca. A partir de agora, Fernando Diniz é quem comanda o Tricolor no restante da temporada.
Durante o tempo de Marcão comandando do Fluminense, foram quatro partidas, três vitórias e um empate. Invicto, o Tricolor sofreu apenas dois gols até o momento e é líder do Campeonato Carioca com 10 pontos.
