O atacante João Pedro, revelado pelo Fluminense, está na mira Newcastle. O clube inglês teve uma primeira proposta, no valor de 17 milhões de libras (cerca de R$ 105 milhões, na cotação atual), rejeitada pelo Watford, atual time do atleta. A expectativa é de que as negociações continuem, com nova oferta a ser apresentada.
De acordo com informações apuradas pelo GE, o jovem deseja deixar o Watford, uma vez que a equipe desceu de divisão na Premier League na última temporada e disputa a segunda divisão do Campeonato Inglês em 2022/2023. João Pedro tem sido titular dos Hornets está época. Ele jogou todas a quatro partidas até o momento, com um gol marcado. O time está invicto na segunda divisão, com duas vitórias e dois empates.
Caso sua transferência para o Newcastle seja concretizada, JP irá se juntar com os brasileiros Joelinton e Bruno Guimarães, que já defendem a equipe do norte do país.
