Falar de Fred e gols, ainda mais pelo Fluminense, não é tarefa fácil. Maior artilheiro da Copa do Brasil, maior do Brasileirão na Era dos pontos corridos, segundo maior do Brasileirão, segundo maior da história do clube, o maior em jogos oficiais. Enfim, não faltam vezes que o capitão e maior ídolo da história recente do Tricolor, que encerrou a carreira no último sábado (09), balançou as redes adversárias.
Uma velha máxima do futebol diz que “o centroavante vive de gols”. Fred então viveu bem durante a carreira no Fluminense. Só pelo Flu, ao todo, foram 199 em 382 jogos nas 11 temporadas em que defendeu o clube.

De acordo com o próprio Fluminense, Fred marcou 120 gols com a perna direita, 26 com a canhota, 52 de cabeça e um peito. Destes, quatro foram de voleio, dois de falta, dois de bicicleta e mais dois de carrinho.

Em 2009, Fred chegava ao Flu cercado de expectativa e emoções. Artilheiro, ex-jogador do Lyon, da França, convocado para a Copa do Mundo de 2006, o centroavante desembarcava com direito a festa no aeroporto e a ter o nome trocado pelo então presidente Roberto Horcades, que o chamou de “Fábio”.
O Tricolor mantinha a linha da Era Unimed, contratações de peso que poderiam trazer títulos. E o camisa 9, por outro lado, via a volta para o Brasil com bons olhos. Uma chance de ficar mais perto da filha, a pequena Geovanna, e de tentar voltar para a Seleção Brasileira. Enquanto a torcida, empolgada, adotava a música do personagem Freddy Krueger, do filme A Hora do Pesadelo: “O Fred vai te pegar”.
E o camisa 9 pegou logo na estréia. Diante do Macaé, no Maracanã, Fred aproveitou a cobrança de falta de Conca para desviar e marcar o primeiro dos gols que o imortalizariam como o segundo maior artilheiro da história do Fluminense. Pela primeira vez, o canto de “o Fred vai te pegar” entoava pelas arquibancadas.
O mais bonito
Em 2012, o Fred guardava esta obra-prima no centenário Fla-Flu. O gol foi eleito mais bonito da história do Brasileirão!

Em 2012, Fred estava apenas em sua quarta temporada pelo Flu, mas já havia vivido muita coisa. Da lesão que o afastou dos gramados por três meses no Brasileirão a marcar 11 gols nos 12 jogos da reta final, que ajudaram a salvar o Time de Guerreiros do rebaixamento — mesmo com 99% de chances de cair — e levaram a final da Copa Sul Americana.
Já havia levantado também o troféu do Campeonato Brasileiro de 2010. Comandado o Tricolor em uma classificação improvável na fase de grupos da Libertadores 2011 — marcando dois gols na vitória fora de casa sobre o Argentinos Jrs. Já tinha feito hat-tricks — quando o jogador faz três gols na mesma partida — contra Portuguesa, Duque de Caxias, Coritiba e Figueirense, por exemplo, já tinha feito pôker — quando faz quatro — contra o Grêmio.
Já tinha marcado golaços, é verdade. Desde que chegou ao Fluminense, Fred vinha tentando fazer gols de voleio sempre que possível. Mas, o gol no Fla-Flu do centenário ficou marcado. Após o escanteio de Thiago Neves e cruzamento do ‘Mago’ Deco de trivela, o centroavante acertou um a la Bebeto. Um movimento plasticamente perfeito para balançar as redes do Engenhão.

Depois de viver o ápice, terminando o Campeonato Brasileiro como campeão, artilheiro e melhor jogador, Fred viveria altos e baixos com ou sem a camisa do Fluminense. Do título de campeão da Copa das Confederações 2013 com o Brasil, marcando um gol deitado na final contra a Espanha, a ver, da arquibancada porque estava lesionado, o Flu ser rebaixado em campo — antes de Portuguesa e Flamengo perderem pontos no STJD por escalarem jogadores irregulares.
De virar meme e piada após o fracasso na Copa da Mundo 2014 a ser abraçado pela torcida tricolor no retorno e a redenção ao terminar como artilheiro do Brasileirão no mesmo ano.
Tudo isso levou ao terceiro dos gols de Fred nesta lista. Mesmo lesionado, o centroavante embarcou para o jogo de volta da semifinal da Copa do Brasil contra o Palmeiras, em São Paulo. Fred estava combalido pela lesão, vomitou no vestiário, todavia marcou um dos gols mais emocionates pelo Fluminense. O artilheiro aproveitou o cruzamento de Gérson e, de cabeça, descontou para o Tricolor que perdia por 2 a 0.
Com o gol, o Flu levou a decisão para os pênaltis e acabou eliminado. Mas fica o registro do sacrifício do ídolo pelo Tricolor.
O do retorno
Depois de quatro anos longe, Fred voltou a balançar as redes pelo Fluminense.
E o primeiro foi esse golaço logo em um clássico contra o Vasco.

Em 2016, Fred deixou o Fluminense. Visivelmente triste, magoado pelo processo de “fritura” que vinha sofrendo no clube. O centroavante foi embora, mas prometeu voltar.
Demorou quatro anos, porém Fred voltou para casa. Em meio a tantas causadas pela COVID19 no Brasil e no mundo, o torcedor tricolor enfim pôde ter um momento de alegria. E o ídolo veio pedalando mais de 600km de Minas até Laranjeiras. A “Tour de Fred” arrecadou mais de uma tonelada de alimentos para as famílias afetadas pela pandemia.
Demorou também para Fred voltar aos gols pelo Fluminense. Mas o camisa 9 voltou a balançar as redes. Quis o destino que fosse no Maracanã e em um clássico contra o Vasco. Já no fim do jogo, o centroavante recebeu de Ganso e soltou uma bomba de fora da área, surpreendeu o goleiro Fernando Miguel e marcou o primeiro gol em seu retorno ao Tricolor.
Daí para frente, Fred continuou a cunhar sua trajetória de feitos e gols pelo Fluminense. Trajetória esta que se encerrou no último sábado. O jogador pode ter se aposentado, mas vai ficar eternamente guardado na história e no coração de cada tricolor.
