Moleque de Xerém, Kayky Almeida, é convocado para Seleção Brasileira Sub-20
Nesta sexta-feira (17), o zagueiro Kayky Almeida, de 19 anos, foi convocado pela primeira vez, para a Seleção Brasileira Sub-20. O comandante Ramon Menezes chamou jovem, junto a outros 22 jogadores, para o ciclo de treinos da categoria mirando o Sul-Americano do Peru, que se inicia em janeiro de 2025.
O Moleque de Xerém se apresenta na Granja Comary, em Teresópolis (RJ), no dia 3 de junho. A preparação vai até 11 de junho. A competição classifica quatro equipes para a Copa do Mundo do próximo ano, sediada no Chile. Kayky falou ao clube sobre a sensação.
“A ficha ainda não caiu. Estou feliz e realizado, porque essa convocação é resultado de muito trabalho e dedicação. Vou dar o meu melhor para aproveitar ao máximo essa oportunidade e, se Deus quiser, voltar lá mais vezes. Vai ser uma honra representar meu clube e meu país”, disse o Moleque de Xerém.
Apesar de integrar a lista de jogadores campeões da Copa Libertadores e do Campeonato Carioca de 2023, Kayky fez sua estreia na equipe profissional apenas em 2024. O zagueiro atuou pela primeira vez contra a Portuguesa-Rj, na segunda rodada do estadual. O Fluminense venceu o confronto por 2 a 1. Na temporada passada, ele atuou em 39 partidas no time Sub-20.
