O pai do meia Metinho, Abel Silu, concedeu uma entrevista ao “NetFlu” e reclamou que o Fluminense teria sido “covarde” com seu filho. O presidente Mário Bittencourt, no entanto, publicou um vídeo em suas redes sociais explicando a situação e rebatendo alguns pontos que foram abordados por Abel nessa entrevista.

A empresa que gerencia a carreira do meia Metinho, “Pro Manager”, divulgou uma nota oficial sobre o caso, na tarde desta quarta-feira, dia 16. Segundo o comunicado, Silu também assinou o manifesto, no entanto não desmentiu a entrevista dada. Confira:
“Os representantes do volante Metinho, do Fluminense, juntamente com seu pai, vêm a público esclarecer pontos importantes referentes a notícias envolvendo o atleta, publicadas no NetFlu.
Em nenhum momento foi garantido a Metinho, por contrato ou qualquer outro tipo de acordo, tempo de jogo do atleta no time profissional do Fluminense. Após a conclusão da negociação, ficou acertado que ele ficaria mais um ano no clube para que concluísse seu desenvolvimento profissional, o que foi aceito pelo Grupo City desde que houvesse “minutagem” do jogador em campo pelo time principal do Fluminense.
Como o atleta não deverá ser utilizado pela equipe profissional, houve consenso entre o Fluminense e o Grupo City, em concordância com o que foi estabelecido no acordo, de que o jogador fosse liberado.
Também cabe ressaltar que em nenhum momento o jogador pediu a qualquer profissional da comissão técnica que fosse mais aproveitado na equipe principal.”
