O Marcelo participou nesta segunda-feira (1) do Podpah, programa em formato podcast transmitido no Youtube. O lateral reestreou pelo Fluminense no dia 5 de abril do ano passado, e desde então, conquistou Campeonato Carioca, Copa Libertadores e Recopa Sul-Americana. Ele ressaltou na entrevista que já pensava no retorno e que só poderia ser para as Laranjeiras.
— Eu queria muito voltar, eu prometi para mim mesmo ‘Se eu voltar para o Brasil vai ser para o Fluminense’ por que eles me deram tudo, Xerém me deu a maturidade inteira para poder seguir a carreira e acabou que conversamos e eu vim numa boa e que alegria — disse Marcelo
O lateral também exaltou o trabalho que é feito por Fernando Diniz. A forma que o treinador vê o futebol e a importância dada ao psicológico do atleta são virtudes do trabalho imposto por ele. A capacidade de recuperação também foi citado por Marcelo
