Maracanã decide por utilizar grama híbrida – instalação terá início em dezembro
A gestão do Maracanã segue em sua constante análise sobre os resultados e atenta aos ajustes necessários para o aperfeiçoamento e desenvoltura das ações no estádio. Seguindo no princípio de caminhar em iniciativas que dão certo e consertar o que se pode melhorar, esta gestão decidiu que irá utilizar a grama híbrida (grama natural reforçada por fibras sintéticas), a mesma que a maioria dos estádios europeus vem adotando.
A decisão pela utilização da grama híbrida aconteceu após todos os esforços feitos para manter o gramado em boas condições, o maior tempo possível ao longo da temporada e depois de avaliações, baseadas principalmente na equação que envolve as características climáticas do estado do Rio de Janeiro e o número de jogos realizados por ano no estádio, disparado o mais utilizado em qualquer país para jogos de futebol.

O Sistema Grassmax combina grama natural com fibras sintéticas, para garantir consistência ao longo da temporada. Ou seja, é grama 100% natural do tipo bermuda celebration, reforçada por fibras de polietileno, que são injetadas a 18 centímetros de profundidade e dois centímetros sobre a superfície do campo. A tecnologia desse sistema faz uma “costura” entre os fios sintéticos e a grama natural, por meio de um equipamento especial.
Primeiro, temos a retirada de 15 centímetros do atual gramado, depois vem a limpeza de toda a área e a preparação para recebimento de nova camada de areia com granulometria adequada e uniforme. Em seguida, é feito o nivelamento a laser da nova camada de areia com a conferência dos caimentos. Por último, se faz o plantio do gramado em sprigs, mudas de grama formadas por folhas, raízes, estolões e rizomas sem a presença de solo. Após alguns dias do plantio e da formação do gramado novo, inicia-se o trabalho da costura dos fios no solo.
Esse sistema assegura superfície sempre uniforme, tem maior eficácia e resistência ao pisoteio, sustenta mais horas de jogo por ano do que a superfície clássica que não é reforçada e é responsável não só pela drenagem, como também por regular a quantidade de água e temperatura do solo, melhorando as condições para crescimento da grama.
A INSTALAÇÃO
O processo de instalação do novo gramado terá início ao fim da temporada deste ano, e levará cerca de 90 dias para ser concluído. “É uma intervenção necessária, que teve como fatores principais o volume de jogos disputados no estádio e também as interferências climáticas. Serão aproximadamente três meses de trabalho para que o gramado esteja pronto o quanto antes, sem comprometer o calendário de 2022”, afirma Severiano Braga, CEO do Maracanã.
A gestão do Maracanã pretende que o estádio esteja liberado para uso já na semifinal do Campeonato Carioca de 2022. O investimento desta obra será todo custeado pelo próprio Maracanã, sem aporte dos clubes, e o valor estimado é de R$ 4.000.000,00. Vale lembrar que a atual gestão, desde que assumiu o controle do estádio, vem executando melhorias significativas na estrutura, com o compromisso de seguir sendo não só o mais conhecido estádio do planeta, mas também o melhor e mais seguro para os clubes e torcedores.
