O Fluminense visita na noite desta quarta-feira (20) o Internacional, em Porto Alegre-RS, pela segunda rodada do Brasileirão Feminino Série A1. No mesmo dia 20 de março, em 2021, as equipes protagonizaram o confronto da final da competição na categoria Sub-18, no Estádio Beira Rio, e o Flu saiu campeão nos pênaltis conquistando assim seu primeiro troféu feminino da história do clube.
O Time de Guerreiras, que contava com nomes importantes como o de Luiza Travassos, Lara Dantas, Luany, Ravena e as irmãs Calazans, havia vencido o jogo de ida em Laranjeiras por 2×1. O regulamento não previa saldo de gols como critério de desempate, então qualquer derrota levaria a disputa da taça para os pênaltis. Foi o que aconteceu: vitória por 4×1 do Internacional no tempo normal, com a atacante Luany tendo feito o gol que abriu o placar logo no primeiro minuto de jogo.
A disputa de pênaltis foi longa, com 10 cobranças para cada lado e com as duas goleiras, Barbieri (do Internacional) e Ravena (do Fluminense) inspiradas.
