O ano era 2005. Final da Taça Rio. FlaxFlu. As duas equipes iriam se enfrentar para decidir quem iria encarar o Volta Redonda na decisão do Carioca, campeão da Taça Guanabara na epoca. O Flu, que tinha passado em uma semifinal difícil contra o Vasco, agora tinha a missão de derrubar o seu maior rival na final. Já o Flamengo iria ver pela última vez um de seus ídolos jogando em campo: Zinho. E o Flu fez uma bela despedida para o jogador.
A partida começou às 16h de um domingo e o Maracanã estava lotado. 74.650 pessoas faziam a festa no estádio e viram um primeiro tempo dominado pelo Flu. No entanto, o gol tricolor não saía. E foi assim até o último segundo da primeira parte do jogo. O 0x0 permaneceu e as equipes foram para o intervalo.
Na volta do segundo tempo o Flu voltou do mesmo jeito, atacando e buscando o gol. E, logo aos 3 minutos, Juan é derrubado por Ricardo Lopes na area. Pênalti para o Flu. Tuta chamou a responsabilidade e, com o canto “A benção João de Deus” ecoando da arquibancada, o jogador botou no fundo da rede adversária. 1×0 para o tricolor.

O Flu empolgado com o gol ampliou o placar 3 minutos depois. Num contra ataque mortal, Tuta achou Leandro livre na area que dominou a bola e, com frieza, tirou as chances de defesa do goleiro. 2×0 no placar e a torcida do Fluminense calava mais uma vez a adversária. Só que não iria parar por aí.
Aos 25 minutos, Juan fez bela jogada pela esquerda e botou na medida para Alex. O jogador dominou e marcou, tocando na trave, o seu sétimo gol na competição. 3×0 e o famoso “chocolate” estava por vir.
E veio ao som de “Olé”. O Flamengo estava desnorteado em campo e o Flu se aproveitou para fazer um golaço. Preto Casagrande recebeu a bola, conduziu ate a entrada da area, chutou em cima do adversário, mas no rebote ele com uma classe encobre o goleiro com uma cavadinha. Era o 4° do Flu no jogo e o “chocolate” no placar.
O Flamengo ainda descontou com Zinho nos acréscimos. Mas nada que apagasse a ótima partida do time que foi dominante o jogo inteiro. E com 4×1 no placar, o Fluminense se consagrou campeão da Taça Rio da melhor maneira possível: goleando o seu maior rival e aposentando um de seus ídolos.
