Fluminense tem dois jogadores convocados para Seleção Brasileira Sub-17
O técnico da Seleção Brasileira Sub-17, Phelipe Leal, convocou na tarde de ontem (23/9), 22 jogadores visando a preparação para o Torneio Sul-Americano Conmebol 2023, competição classificatória para a Copa do Mundo FIFA da categoria. E dentre os convocados estão dois jogadores do Fluminense, o lateral Esquerdinha e o Meia Riquelme.
A delegação brasileira ficará hospedada em Cotia, no Centro de Treinamento do São Paulo Futebol Clube, e utilizará o CT para treinar entre os dias 3 a 11 de outubro.

Esquerdinha, de 16 anos, está na sua terceira passagem pela equipe comandada pelo técnico Phelipe Leal. O Moleque de Xerém participou do Torneio de Montaigu, vencido pela Seleção Brasileira em abril deste mesmo ano. O jovem diz como se sente em ser convocado mais uma vez.
“É sempre uma honra ser convocado para defender o meu país. Fico feliz em poder representar o Fluminense mais uma vez na Seleção Brasileira. Farei o possível para honrar a camisa desse grande clube”, disse.
Artilheiro no Sub-15 com 13 gols em 2022, o meia Riquelme Felipe, de apenas 15 anos, é novidade nas mãos do comandante da Seleção.
“Estou muito feliz com essa nova convocação. Agradeço a Deus, família, comissão técnica e, principalmente, ao Fluminense pelo apoio em mais um passo dado em minha carreira. O clube me ajuda não só como jogador, mas a ser uma pessoa cada vez melhor”, afirmou.
O Tricolor das Laranjeiras conta desde 2021 com pelo menos um atleta em todas as convocações para seleções brasileiras de base.
O Torneio Sul-Americano Sub-17 será realizado no Equador, do dia 30 de março a 23 de abril de 2023. A Seleção Brasileira é a atual campeã da Copa do Mundo da categoria e também soma 12 títulos sul-americanos. O último foi conquistado em 2017, no Chile.
