Fluminense enfrenta o Cruzeiro na semifinal inédita da Copa do Brasil Sub-20
Depois de eliminar o Corinthians nas quartas de final da Copa do Brasil, o Fluminense conheceu nesta quinta-feira(21) o adversário da inédita semifinal. O Cruzeiro venceu o Sampaio Corrêa por 2 a 0 e garantiu vaga para enfrentar os moleques de Xerém. O tricolor fará o primeiro duelo em casa e decidirá a vaga em Minas.
“Faremos o primeiro jogo em casa, onde somos muito fortes. Então, queremos levar vantagem para o duelo de volta, respeitando o Cruzeiro. Esperamos continuar nesse bom momento e trabalhar bastante durante a semana para começar bem esse confronto de 180 minutos, fazendo grandes exibições e seguindo fortes em busca da classificação para a grande final” — disse o técnico Ricardo Resende
O clube jogou o mata-mata nacional, criado em 2012, de 2014 a 2018 e, depois, em 2022, chegando às oitavas de final. A campanha do Flu na edição deste ano do torneio inclui três vitórias, um empate e uma derrota. Foram 15 gols marcados e sete sofridos. Os Moleques de Xerém eliminaram, além do Alvinegro, Aster-ES e Vasco.
“Estamos muito felizes com o desempenho dos atletas. Conseguimos eliminar grandes clubes e, agora, vamos pegar o Cruzeiro, que tem uma equipe qualificada. A expectativa é de que possamos buscar a vaga inédita na final da Copa do Brasil Sub-20, o que seria de extrema importância para o clube e para a formação dos Moleques de Xerém” — declarou o treinador.
Os duelos que valem vaga na decisão estão previstos para os dias 30 de setembro e 7 de outubro. Como o adversário possui desempenho superior na disputa, o Flu decide o confronto longe de seus domínios.
