Com o resultado, a equipe de Fernando Diniz alcança 47 pontos e dorme na 8ª colocação. Após o apito final, o técnico concedeu entrevista coletiva e comentou sobre a partida.
“A gente vai de fato respeitar o campeonato. Hoje tinha muito coisa em jogo porque é um grande rival e a gente se preparou da melhor forma possível. No primeiro tempo o time não foi bem, principalmente até antes da parada, depois da parada melhorou um pouco e no segundo tempo fez um ótimo jogo. Acho também que o placar acabou sendo justo pelo que os times fizeram.”
Durante a partida, o atacante Yony Gonzales foi substituído por lesão. Na coletiva, Diniz comentou sobre o momento do atacante e torce por uma rápida recuperação do jogador.
“Fiquei muito feliz de ele ter feito o gol. Ele está melhorando cada vez mais nos treinamentos, é uma pena. Acho que não deve ser nada muito importante, ele tentou até continuar na partida, normalmente quando é algo mais agudo o jogador não tem a mínima condição de tentar. A gente espera que seja uma coisa leve e ele consiga recuperar rapidamente”
