Em partida válida pelo Campeonato Argentino, o treinador Jorge Almiron optou por escalar um time totalmente reserva e empatou em 0 a 0 com o Estudiantes de La Plata, no estádio La Bombonera.
Mesmo com time alternativo, o Boca jogou melhor que o rival e criou mais oportunidades durante a partida mas não conseguiu converte-las em gols. Durante o jogo, alguns titulares, com Barco, entraram em campo para tentar mudar a partida mas o duelo seguiu sem gols.
