Antes da estreia, relembre as outras participações do Fluminense na Libertadores
Nesta quinta-feira (22), o Fluminense faz a sua estreia na Copa Libertadores da América 2021 diante do River Plate no Maracanã. Embora seja um gigante do futebol brasileiro, esta é apenas a sétima vez que o Tricolor disputa a competição. E o ST aproveita para lembrar como foram as outras participações do Flu no principal Torneio da América do Sul.
Criada pela Conmebol em 1960, a então Copa dos Campeões da América se tornou Copa Libertadores em 1965. O nome surgiu como uma homenagem aos heróis da independência como Simon Bolívar, na Venezuela, Jose de San Martin, no Peru, Bernardo O’Higgins, no Chile, José Gervasio Artigas, no Uruguai, e Dom Pedro I, no Brasil, por exemplo.
Mas, inicialmente, os brasileiros não deram muita atenção ao Torneio. Durante os primeiros anos, o Campeonato Brasileiro e os Estaduais ainda eram mais relevantes. Até a década de 1990, por exemplo, apenas o Santos, de Pelé, o Flamengo, de Zico, e o Grêmio, de Renato Gaúcho, haviam conquistado o título. Tanto que, em suas duas primeiras participações, o Fluminense sequer passou da primeira fase.

Desde então, a Libertadores se tornou uma verdadeira obsessão de clubes e torcidas. Em sua melhor campanha, o Flu por pouco não levantou o troféu em 2008. Mas, acabou perdendo nos pênaltis para a LDU. Nas participações seguintes, o Tricolor caiu uma vez nas oitavas e duas vezes nas quartas-de-final. Sendo que, nas últimas, acabou caindo diante dos futuros finalistas.
Aproveitando o clima de Libertadores, o ST relembra todas as outras vezes que o Fluminense disputou a competição:
1971
Em 1971, o Fluminense estreava na Libertadores com a credencial de campeão do “Maior Campeonato Brasileiro de Todos Os Tempos” — como ficou conhecido o Torneio Roberto Gomes Pedrosa de 1970, porque contou com a participação de todos os 23 tricampeões mundiais, além do técnico Zagallo.
Na época, apenas 20 clubes se classificavam para o Torneio. Sendo os campeões e vice-campeões nacionais que, por sua vez, eram divididos em cinco grupos regionalizados.
O Flu então caiu no Grupo 3 juntamente com Palmeiras, vice-campeão brasileiro, e os venezuelanos do Deportivo Galícia e Deportivo Itália.
A campanha até teve um início empolgante. O Tricolor — do técnico Zagallo e de Félix, Samarone, Lula, Flavio Minuano e cia. — começou vencendo o Palmeiras, da Academia Alviverde, por 2 a 0 em pleno Parque Antártica.
Entretanto, o Tricolor acabou derrapando na reta final. O time de Laranjeiras sofreu uma surpreendente derrota para o Deportivo Itália em casa, por 1 a 0, episódio que ficou conhecido pela impressa venezuelana como “Pequeño Maracanazo“. Destaque para o arqueiro ítalo-venezuelano Vito Fasano, que aguentou um verdadeiro bombardeio do ataque tricolor.
Na sequência, também perdeu para o Palmeiras em pleno Maracanã pelo placar de 3 a 1. Assim, o Fluminense terminou a primeira fase com duas vitórias, dois empates e duas derrotas. O Tricolor somou oito pontos (as vitórias na época ainda não valiam três) e ficou com a segunda colocação, atrás do Palmeiras. Como apenas o primeiro avançava, o Flu, portanto, acabou eliminado na primeira fase.
1985
Assim como em 1971, mais uma vez o Fluminense retornava à Libertadores como o atual campeão brasileiro. Desta vez, o Tricolor contava com outros grandes nomes de sua história como Paulo Victor, Delei, Romerito, além do casal 20, Assis e Washington, por exemplo.
Mas a campanha foi pífia. O Tricolor das Laranjeiras caiu no Grupo 1, ao lado do rival Vasco, além de Argentinos Juniors e Ferril Carril Oeste, ambos da Argentina.
O Fluminense encerrou a sua participação no Torneio com três empates e três derrotas, apenas três gols marcados e seis gols sofridos, terminando na terceira colocação. À frente apenas do Cruzmaltino e, ainda assim, pelo saldo de gols.
Por outro lado, o Argentinos Junior, primeiro colocado do grupo, chegou longe. O time responsável por revelar ao mundo ninguém menos que o craque Diego Armando Maradona conquistou a Copa Libertadores pela primeira e única vez após bater o América de Cali, da Colômbia, na final.
2008
Depois de passar 23 anos sem disputar a Copa Libertadores da América, o Fluminense novamente chegava como campeão. Mas, dessa vez o título era da Copa do Brasil.
Para o retorno à competição, o Tricolor — ainda na Era Unimed — investiu pesado. O clube repatriou o lateral-direito Gabriel, que estava no Málaga, da Espanha. Além disso, trouxe o meia Dario Conca, ex-Vasco, e os atacantes Dodô, ex-Botafogo e Washington ‘Coração Valente’, que estava no futebol japonês.
O sorteio levou o Fluminense ao Grupo 8. Ao lado de Arsenal de Sarandí, da Argentina, LDU, do Equador, e Libertad, do Paraguai. Com quatro vitórias — incluindo uma antológica goleada por 6 a 0 sobre o Arsenal — um empate e uma derrota, o Tricolor conseguiu a melhor colocação geral. Conquistando, portanto, o direito de decidir todas as fases do mata-mata em casa.
Nas oitavas-de-final, o Flu passou de forma relativamente fácil. Com duas as vitórias sobre o Atlético Nacional, da Colômbia. A segunda inclusive com gol do ex-zagueiro e hoje treinador do clube, Roger Machado. Mas, a vantagem de decidir em casa viria a ser fundamental dali em diante.
Fortes emoções até a final
Os destinos de Fluminense e São Paulo se cruzaram nas quartas. Após perder por 1 a 0 no Morumbi, o Flu saiu na frente no Maracanã com gol de Washington. O empate de Adriano Imperador veio como um banho de água fria na empolgada torcida tricolor. Mas os gols de Dodô e de Washington, aos 47 minutos do segundo tempo, salvaram o Flu time da eliminação.
Já na semifinal, o adversário era outro “Bicho-Papão” de Libertadores, o temido Boca Juniors. O empate em 2 a 2 na Argentina calou a torcida xeneize — feito lembrado na canção “Desde Pequeno Eu Te Sigo”, da torcida. Enquanto a vitória por 3 a 1, no Rio, sacramentou o passaporte para a primeira e até então única final de Libertadores na história do Tricolor das Laranjeiras. Além disso, um clube brasileiro voltava a eliminar o Boca da competição, algo que não acontecia desde o Santos do Rei Pelé.
Por fim, restava apenas a LDU. Na altitude de 3500 metros de Quito, o Flu perdeu por 4 a 2. Já no Maracanã, a LDU abriu o placar, mas três gols de Thiago Neves levaram a decisão para os pênaltis.
No entanto, o Flu acabou sendo derrotado por 3 a 1 e deixou escapar o sonho de ser campeão em casa.
2011
Três anos depois do vice, o Fluminense estava de volta à Libertadores. O primeiro desde a épica Arrancada do Time de Guerreiros em 2009.
Mas, diferente da participação anterior, o Tricolor teve uma primeira fase muito mais conturbada. O Flu, tricampeão brasileiro, caiu no grupo 3. O mesmo de América-MEX, Argentinos Juniors e Nacional, do Uruguai.
Mesmo contratando jogadores de experiência internacional como Diego Cavalieri, Edinho, Araújo e Rafael Sóbis, o Flu não venceu nos três primeiros jogos. Para piorar, viu o técnico Muricy Ramalho — que recusou um convite da Seleção Brasileira para ser campeão brasileiro pelo Fluminense — pedir demissão. Enquanto aguardava por Abel Braga, a diretoria optou por deixar o então auxiliar-técnico permanente, Enderson Moreira, no comando.
Com Enderson, a vitória por 3 a 2 sobre o América — com um golaço de Deco aos 42 do segundo tempo — deu uma sobrevida.
E hoje no #TodoDiaUmGolDoFlu esse gol inesquecível do Deco, pela Copa Libertadores da América 2011. Jogo difícil, mas que o Tricolor foi buscar o resultado no final do jogo!

Mas, a derrota para o Nacional fez com que o Flu precisasse vencer o Argentinos Juniors, na Argentina, por 2 gols de diferença.
Só que antes da partida teve outra polêmica. Autor do gol do título em 2010, Émerson Sheik foi afastado pela diretoria porque teria cantado uma música do Flamengo no ônibus.
Classificação na “Bacia das Almas”
Entre tantos problemas, o espírito do Time de Guerreiros retornou. Aos 43 do segundo tempo, o Fluminense vencia por 3 a 2. Até que Edinho — para surpresa de todos — foi derrubado na área. Pênalti que Fred converteu e garantiu a heroica classificação. O camisa 9, aliás, definiu este como seu maior momento em Copas Libertadores.
Com duas vitórias, dois empates e duas derrotas, o Tricolor terminou na segunda posição do grupo. Com apenas 8 pontos, passou com a segunda pior campanha na Classificação Geral.
Contudo, o Fluminense não chegou muito mais longe. Nas oitavas, o Flu até venceu o Libertad no Engenhão por 3 a 1. Em um jogo que terminou de madrugada por conta dos apagões no Estádio e contou com este golaço de Marquinho.

Mas, na partida de volta, a derrota por 3 a 0 no Defensores Del Chaco custou mais uma eliminação do Flu.
2012
Em 2012, o Fluminense chegava à Libertadores pela primeira vez sem ter sido campeão no ano anterior. O Tricolor — que disputou o título até as últimas rodadas — acabou ficando em terceiro no Brasileirão.
Na fase de grupo, o Flu teve pela frente dois velhos conhecidos, o Arsenal de Sarandí e o Boca Juniors, além do Zamora, da Venezuela. Mas o Fluminense fez bonito. Com cinco vitórias e uma derrota, o Tricolor voltou a protagonizar a melhor campanha da Classificação Geral. Destaque para a vitória por 2 a 1 sobre o Boca fora de casa, fazendo do Fluminense o primeiro brasileiro a vencer os argentinos em La Bombonera desde o Paysandu em 2003.
Nas oitavas, o Tricolor empatou em 0 a 0 com o Internacional no Beira-Rio. E no Rio, a vitória por 2 a 1 garantiu a classificação para as quartas-de-final.
Só que o destino ainda reservaria mais um encontro com o Boca. Os xeneizes, desta vez, venceram por 1 a 0 — em um jogo polêmico — disputado em Buenos Aires. Enquanto que, no Engenhão, Carleto cumpriu o sonho de seu pai e anotou, de falta, o gol que ia devolvendo o placar. Até os 45 do segundo tempo, a decisão estava indo para os pênaltis. Mas o carrasco uruguaio, Santiago ‘El Tanque’ Silva, anotou o gol de empate do clube argentino.
Assim, o Tricolor acabou eliminado. E, em contrapartida, o Boca chegou até a final. Mas o time de Riquelme e cia. acabou perdendo a decisão para o Corinthians.
2013
Por fim, chegamos a 2013. Assim como em 1971, 1985 e 2011, o Fluminense chegava à competição com a credencial de campeão brasileiro. Este último com quatro rodadas de antecedência.
Do atual elenco, apenas Fred e o goleiro Marcos Felipe estavam inscritos na competição. Na Libertadores, o tetracampeão entrou no Grupo 8 juntamente com Grêmio, Caracas, da Venezuela, e Huachipato, do Chile. E o Tricolor conseguiu uma boa campanha. Sobretudo fora de casa. Mas o clube derrapou em casa com o empate diante do Huachipato e a derrota para o Grêmio.
Com três vitórias, dois empates e a supracitada derrota, o Fluminense terminou na primeira colocação, com 11 pontos. O que levou o Flu à enfrentar os equatorianos do Emelec nas oitavas.
No Equador, o Emelec acabou vencendo por 2 a 1. Mas o Fluminense conseguiu reverter o placar em São Januário, ganhando por 2 a 0, com gols de Carlinhos e Fred.
Já nas quartas, o clube encarou o Olimpia, do Paraguai. Novamente na casa do Vasco, o Fluminense esbarrou na forte retranca paraguaio e ficou no empate em 0 a 0. Enquanto que a vitória do Alvinegro por 2 a 1 no Defensores Del Chaco pôs fim mais uma vez ao sonho de conquistar à América.
Por outro lado, o Olimpia chegou até a final da competição. Mas, da mesma forma que o Boca Junior no ano anterior, acabou perdendo a decisão para um brasileiro. No caso, o Atlético-MG.

Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.”
Referring to the last generation, this could only be speaking of a cashless society. Why? Revelation 13:17 tells us that we cannot buy or sell unless we receive the mark of the beast. If physical money was still in use, we could buy or sell with one another without receiving the mark. This would contradict scripture that states we need the mark to buy or sell!
These verses could not be referring to something purely spiritual as scripture references two physical locations (our right hand or forehead) stating the mark will be on one “OR” the other. If this mark was purely spiritual, it would indicate only in one place.
This is where it really starts to come together. It is shocking how accurate the Bible is concerning the implatnable RFID microchip. These are notes from a man named Carl Sanders who worked with a team of engineers to help develop this RFID chip
“Carl Sanders sat in seventeen New World Order meetings with heads-of-state officials such as Henry Kissinger and Bob Gates of the C.I.A. to discuss plans on how to bring about this one-world system. The government commissioned Carl Sanders to design a microchip for identifying and controlling the peoples of the world—a microchip that could be inserted under the skin with a hypodermic needle (a quick, convenient method that would be gradually accepted by society).
Carl Sanders, with a team of engineers behind him, with U.S. grant monies supplied by tax dollars, took on this project and designed a microchip that is powered by a lithium battery, rechargeable through the temperature changes in our skin. Without the knowledge of the Bible (Brother Sanders was not a Christian at the time), these engineers spent one-and-a-half-million dollars doing research on the best and most convenient place to have the microchip inserted.
Guess what? These researchers found that the forehead and the back of the hand (the two places the Bible says the mark will go) are not just the most convenient places, but are also the only viable places for rapid, consistent temperature changes in the skin to recharge the lithium battery. The microchip is approximately seven millimeters in length, .75 millimeters in diameter, about the size of a grain of rice. It is capable of storing pages upon pages of information about you. All your general history, work history, crime record, health history, and financial data can be stored on this chip.
Brother Sanders believes that this microchip, which he regretfully helped design, is the “mark” spoken about in Revelation 13:16–18. The original Greek word for “mark” is “charagma,” which means a “scratch or etching.” It is also interesting to note that the number 666 is actually a word in the original Greek. The word is “chi xi stigma,” with the last part, “stigma,” also meaning “to stick or prick.” Carl believes this is referring to a hypodermic needle when they poke into the skin to inject the microchip.”
Mr. Sanders asked a doctor what would happen if the lithium contained within the RFID microchip leaked into the body. The doctor replied by saying a terrible sore would appear in that location. This is what the book of Revelation says:
“And the first (angel) went, and poured out his vial on the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore on the men which had the mark of the beast, and on them which worshipped his image” (Revelation 16:2).

The third angel’s warning in Revelation 14:9-11 states,

This is not just head knowledge of believing in Jesus, but rather receiving His words, taking them to heart, so that we may truly be transformed into the image of God. So, Baraq “O” Bam-Maw or Baraq “U” Bam-Maw in Hebrew poetry similar to the style written in Isaiah, would translate literally to “Lightning from the heights.” The word “Satan” in Hebrew is a direct translation, therefore “Satan.”
So when Jesus told His disciples in Luke 10:18 that He beheld Satan fall like lightning from heaven, if this were to be spoken by a Jewish Rabbi today influenced by the poetry in the book of Isaiah, he would say these words in Hebrew–the words of Jesus in Luke 10:18 as, and I saw Satan as Baraq O Bam-Maw.
The names of both of Obama’s daughters are Malia and Natasha. If we were to write those names backward (the devil does things in reverse) we would get “ailam ahsatan”. Now if we remove the letters that spell “Alah” (Allah being the false god of Islam), we get “I am Satan”. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

Jesus stands alone among the other religions that say to rightly weigh the scales of good and evil and to make sure you have done more good than bad in this life. Is this how we conduct ourselves justly in a court of law? Bearing the image of God, is this how we project this image into reality?
Our good works cannot save us. If we step before a judge, being guilty of a crime, the judge will not judge us by the good we have done, but rather by the crimes we have committed. If we as fallen humanity, created in God’s image, pose this type of justice, how much more a perfect, righteous, and Holy God?
God has brought down His moral laws through the 10 commandments given to Moses at Mt. Siani. These laws were not given so we may be justified, but rather that we may see the need for a savior. They are the mirror of God’s character of what He has written in our hearts, with our conscious bearing witness that we know that it is wrong to steal, lie, dishonor our parents, murder, and so forth.
We can try and follow the moral laws of the 10 commandments, but we will never catch up to them to be justified before a Holy God. That same word of the law given to Moses became flesh about 2,000 years ago in the body of Jesus Christ. He came to be our justification by fulfilling the law, living a sinless perfect life that only God could fulfill.
The gap between us and the law can never be reconciled by our own merit, but the arm of Jesus is stretched out by the grace and mercy of God. And if we are to grab on, through faith in Him, He will pull us up being the one to justify us. As in the court of law, if someone steps in and pays our fine, even though we are guilty, the judge can do what is legal and just and let us go free.
