A mesatenista Sophia Kelmer, de 14 anos, representou o Fluminense no Aberto Paralímpico do Brasil, disputado no final de semana passado. A competição aconteceu no Centro de Treinamento Paralímpico Brasileiro, em São Paulo (SP), e a atleta levou três medalhas para casa.
Além de ter sido campeã da classe individual 8, levou a prata nas duplas feminina e mista. O ouro conquistado foi o terceiro de Sophia em torneios internacionais e o primeiro do Brasil. Na final do Aberto, a atleta tricolor derrotou a chilena Florencia Perez por 3 a 1 (8/11, 11/6, 12/10, 15/13).

“Foi uma competição de alto nível. A chilena também era uma atleta da nova geração. Acho que o fundamental foi a parte mental, ter resiliência, pois cada ponto é importante, cada ponto é fundamental. E a torcida me ajudou muito”, disse a mesatenista.
Em novembro, Sophia Kelmer disputará o Mundial Paralímpico de Granada, na Espanha.
