Um dia mais triste no Reino: morreu hoje o lateral-esquerdo Altair, quarto jogador que mais vestiu a camisa do Fluminense com 551 jogos. Ele estava internado há 15 dias no Hospital das Clínicas em São Gonçalo e teve falência múltipla de órgãos nessa madrugada. Altair conquistou 5 títulos pelo Flu: os Cariocas de 1959, 1964 e 1969 e as Taças Rio-São Paulo de 1957 e 1960.
Considerado por muitos como o melhor marcador de Garrincha, Altair será enterrado ás 17h dessa sexta-feira no cemitério Maruí, em Niterói.
