Roger valoriza classificação e destaca: “Não temos um super time, temos um time competitivo”
O Fluminense conseguiu reverter a situação e conquistou a classificação para às quartas-de-final da Copa do Brasil 2021. Mesmo com a vitória por 3 x 0, o time encontrou muitas dificuldades no jogo, mesmo enfrentando um adversário de divisões inferiores e jogando em casa. Após o apito final, Roger Machado concedeu entrevista virtual coletiva e ressaltou que o Flu convenceu com o resultado e que o time, mesmo que não apresente um futebol brilhante, se destaca pela entrega e competitividade:
– Penso que convencemos com o resultado. Não vejo que você vai dominar um adversário o tempo inteiro. Mesmo estando duas divisões abaixo. Foi um jogo de características distintas. Maracanã ficou fechado 50 dias para a Copa América e o gramado está horrível. As dificuldades vão aparecer. O que eu gostaria de falar para o torcedor é que quando a gente tiver a oportunidade de atuar bem tecnicamente e não dar nenhuma chance pro adversário, vamos buscar fazer. Não temos um super time, temos um time competitivo. Não vamos fazer um futebol brilhante, como se imagina que o torcedor mereça ver. Esse grupo se caracterizou por não desistir nunca. O que eu diria é isso, acreditar que é possível sempre, mesmo que em algum momento eles se sintam menos representados dentro de campo. Esse time vai sempre competir até o final.
O Flu se reapresenta hoje, no final da manhã, no Centro de Treinamento Carlos Castilho. O próximo adversário será o Cerro Porteño, nesta terça-feira, em partida decisiva pela vaga nas quartas da Libertadores.
