Mascarenhas revela que quase desistiu de jogar e futebol e fala do carinho pela torcida do Flu: “Chega a arrepiar!”
O lateral esquerdo Mascarenhas, que ainda pertence ao Fluminense mas está prestes a retornar para o Brasil após não conseguir atuar pelo Vitória de Guimarães em Portugal, foi o convidado da sexta-feira para conversar com exclusividade com a reportagem do Saudações Tricolores. Comandado por Pedro Rangel e João Gurgel, o jovem de 22 anos falou sobre o momento difícil que sofreu por contas das lesões que sofreu e ressaltou todo o carinho que a torcida tricolor vem lhe dando nas redes sociais.
“Quando chega a falar sobre a torcida do Fluminense, chega a arrepiar. Eu vou fazer 14 anos de clube, estou no Fluminense desde os meus 8 anos de idade. Eu brinco com a minha família que eu aprendi a ler e falar no Fluminense, conviver com outras pessoas, obedecer pessoas mais velhas. Então tudo que eu tive e tenho na vida, eu agradeço ao Fluminense.”
“Passei anos lá dentro difíceis, mas muitos felizes. O maior reconhecimento disso é a torcida do Fluminense. O que mantém o Fluminense de pé é a torcida. Todos nós que passamos pelo Fluminense e que estão no clube sabem o sentimento gigante da torcida. Quando dá ela está com a gente, quando não dá ela está com a gente de longe. Isso é incontestável. Ela sempre faz festa bonita! E eu sempre tive muito apoio da torcida, sempre vi muitas mensagens de carinho, as vezes tem um ou outro que fala besteira, mas a pessoa não sabe o contexto da história, não sabe o que a gente passa e o que eu passei. Acho que se colocasse um fiapo do cabelo que eu tenho no braço para falar: ‘Ah, Mascarenhas passou por isso, eu acho que vou me colocar no lugar dele”, eu acho que não falaria. As vezes as pessoas acham que nós estamos só machucados e que quer tudo. Não, não é. As vezes a gente só quer entrar em campo para ver ele elogiando a gente. Quando eu entrei no Maracanã aos 18 anos contra o Flamengo e 50 mil pessoas gritando o meu nome foi algo surreal, eu não esperava. Vou falar uma coisa aqui que só minha família sabe: mas eu recebi uma notícia na sexta-feira antes do jogo de domingo e fiquei sexta, sábado e domingo sem comer. Eu fui comer só de manhã cedo no domingo, forçado pela nutricionista que não queria me deixar sem comer. Mas eu não conseguia. Eu só queria entrar em campo, ter a sensação de ter estar em campo com os jogadores e sair do lugar que eu estava, nas arquibancadas. Então, para mim foi um sonho brutal. De momento mais marcante entre o primeiro gol e a estreia, eu fico com a estreia porque domingo, quatro horas da tarde, no Maracanã, todo mundo assiste e era o meu maior sonho estar lá. E eu guardo isso para mim de uma maneira absurda, pois foi um grande jogo, fiz uma bela partida e a torcida me apoia até hoje por aquele jogo. Eu sou grato à torcida pro resto da minha vida.”

Hoje, o lateral ainda se encontra em terras lusitanas. O jogador, em primeira mão, pensa em voltar para o Brasil. Mas o principal, é voltar aos gramados.
“O meu maior desejo é voltar ao Brasil para poder atuar. Eu tenho totais condições de voltar a atuar aqui (Portugal),isso eu deixo claro. Em nenhum momento, eu passei por momento de covardia ou dificuldade em se adaptar, o que atrapalhou foi a lesão. Quando eu cheguei, eu já cheguei jogando, vim para ser titular, mantive a confiança mas na véspera do jogo eu me machuquei. Quando eu retornei, eu voltei muito bem, porém não estava com ritmo o que dificultou um pouco, por alguns problemas contratuais dificultou a minha ficada aqui e eu pedi para resolver a minha situação. Eu quis programar a minha situação com um pouco de antecedência e entrei em contato com os meus empresários e o meu pai para retornar para o Brasil.”
No fim, Mascarenhas agradeceu a nossa reportagem pelo convite e que espera voltar logo a atuar – seja pelo Fluminense ou por algum outro clube.
“Eu fiquei muito feliz pelo convite, me dá um ânimo a mais para poder voltar a falar sobre futebol e abrir o meu coração para que as pessoas entendam o como é difícil. Eu já me importei muito com alguns comentários e que me fizeram chorar. Eu estava tão sensível nesses anos que eu pensava que não era possível alguém falar aquelas palavras, ‘não é possível ele poderia estar falando isso, ele não vai se colocar no meu lugar e ver o quanto eu estou sofrendo?’, mas o pessoal está aí para isso, elogiar e poder cobrar. Mas eu sempre tento responder de uma forma mais educada, para que a pessoa tente se ligar no que ela está falando. Mas o que eu mais quero de coração é voltar a jogar, voltar a sorrir e trazer alegria para as pessoas que torcem por mim.”
