Durante o desfile das escolas de samba do Rio de Janeiro, a escola de samba Imperatriz Leopoldinense fez uma homenagem ao Fluminense. O clube fez parte do figurino que ilustraram o enredo ‘Só da Lalá’, reedição que homenageia Lamartine Babo, criador da maioria dos hinos do futebol brasileiro. O carnavalesco Leandro Vieira representou os quatro grandes clubes de futebol carioca.

A última vez que o Fluminense foi homenageado no carnaval foi em 2014, pela própria Imperatriz. Na época, o ex-meia Deco desfilou pela escola de samba representando o clube. Rivellino também esteve presente.
