Flúnel do Tempo: Há 10 anos, Fluminense batia o Botafogo e se isolava na liderança do Brasileirão

Fluminense e Botafogo se encontrarão nesse domingo (23), às 16 horas, no Maracanã, em partida válida pela 33ª rodada do Brasileirão. O jogo marcará o quinto encontro entre os dois times no ano, sendo o saldo até agora de 3 vitórias para o tricolor e um triunfo para o alvinegro.
Em 2012, o encontro entre as duas equipes cariocas também aconteceu no Campeonato Brasileiro daquele ano. Flu e Fogo estavam em situações diferentes na competição, mesmo os dois estando na parte de cima da tabela. O tricolor era líder do Brasileirão e buscava a vitória no Clássico Vovô para se distanciar de vez do Atlético-MG, segundo colocado naquela altura. Já o alvinegro estava na 7ª posição, a sete do quarto colocado, Vasco, e precisava do triunfo para continuar na briga pela vaga na Libertadores. Os dois clubes se encontraram no Engenhão, mesmo com o mando de campo sendo do Fluminense. Isso aconteceu pois o Maracanã estava passando por obras em preparação à Copa do Mundo de 2014.

PRIMEIRO TEMPO: Botafogo tentava, mas parava em Diego Cavalieri
Os dois elencos eram bem qualificados. O Fluminense, campeão brasileiro naquele ano, tinha estrelas como Fred, Thiago Neves, Deco e Diego Cavalieri. Já o Botafogo contava com a estrela internacional Clarence Seedorf, Elkeson e Jefferson. O jogo prometia ser um grande duelo. Entretanto, o que se observou nele foi um desempenho melhor do Alvinegro nos 45 primeiros minutos. Com duas chances perigosas de Elkeson, o rival buscava abrir o placar. Porém, parava em Cavalieri, que vivia fase incrível e era considerado, por muitos, o melhor goleiro em atividade no Brasil. Além do atacante do Botafogo, Seedorf e Fábio Ferreira também tentaram, mas não conseguiram fazer o gol.
No lado tricolor, o Fluminense tinha dificuldades para montar seus ataques. Sem chances reais de perigo na primeira etapa, o tricolor se defendia bem, mas quem salvava mesmo era o seu goleiro.
SEGUNDO TEMPO: Uma bola para o artilheiro resolver o jogo
O Flu voltou para a segunda etapa ainda bem aquém do visto naquela temporada. O Botafogo ainda tinha chances perigosas, como a criada por Fellype Gabriel. Mesmo assim, o tricolor não se abateu, e quase abriu o placar na metade da segunda etapa, após cabeçada de Digão e grande defesa de Jefferson. No rebote, Gum teve a oportunidade de chutar para o gol, mas, desequilibrado, isolou.
Após esse lance, o líder do campeonato acordou para o jogo, e, cinco minutos depois, conseguiu o tento que garantiria sua vitória. Em passe de Fred aberto para Wellington Nem, o ponta tricolor carrega a bola até a linha de fundo e toca de volta para o camisa 9. Ele recebe na entrada da área e dá um chute na saída de Jefferson, inaugurando o placar no Engenhão. O Fluminense ainda teria mais uma chance de ampliá-lo, mas Thiago Neves não conseguiu finalizar bem após cruzamento de Marcos Junior. Mesmo assim, o clube das Laranjeiras garantiu o triunfo contra o Botafogo, se isolou de vez na liderança do Brasileirão e, no fim, foi campeão desse mesmo torneio.
