Inteligência emocional e foco foram os ingredientes principais da vitória suada do Flu ontem, e o técnico Marcelo Oliveira credita essa vitória à estratégia usada, somada a concentração da equipe, junto com o espírito guerreiro de cada um dos jogadores.
– Foi um ótimo jogo do Fluminense. Nos preparamos muito no campo e emocionalmente. Precisávamos ganhar, mas não podia ser de qualquer forma. A equipe do Nacional é muito bem treinada. Preparamos uma boa estratégia. Tínhamos de estar bem seguros e equilibrados entre defesa e ataque. Cumprimos bem esse papel. Os jogadores foram guerreiros, pacientes, persistentes. Controlamos o jogo o tempo todo, com possibilidade de fazer o gol, como fizemos, e até de fazer o segundo. Isso que queremos, um Fluminense cada vez mais forte.
E essa vitória, na visão do treinador, servirá para o Flu ganhar confiança para a sequência do Brasileirão e para seguir mais firme ainda nas finais da sula, que já começam na semana que vem:

– Foi uma vitória maravilhosa que nos dá confiança e nos fortalece para a sequência da Sul-Americana e do Brasileiro. E muito valorizada pela equipe do Nacional, que não tinha perdido em casa no torneio, sequer levado gol.
O treinador comentou o que o levou à escolha de Airton, no meio no lugar do lesionado Léo:
A função do técnico é tomar decisões. E todas decisões têm riscos. Por já estar no futebol há muitos anos, eu sabia que se tivéssemos problemas aqui a primeira coisa que diriam é “poxa, mas botou três zagueiros, dois volantes…”. Fazemos o que pensamos ser melhor para o time. Tínhamos que improvisar um jogador do lado, e entendemos que o Airton tem uma saída de bola muito boa.

Achei que ficou bem equilibrado, ganhamos na bola aérea também. Foi uma decisão bem tomada, que é de risco, pode dar certo como também não pode.
O Flu agora encara o Vasco pelo Brasileiro – no sábado – e já na próxima quarta vai a Curitiba encarar o Atlético-PR pela semi-final da Sula. Questionado se pouparia o time no clássico de sábado, o treinador confirmou que poderia sim poupar alguns atletas mais desgastados:
– A partir de amanhã vamos pensar nesse jogo importante que temos. Lamento que no futebol brasileiro tenhamos que jogar tanto em tão pouco tempo. Sair de um jogo como esse, desgastante, ter uma viagem amanhã desgastante e já ter um clássico contra um adversário que não jogou durante a semana… Este jogo poderia ser no domingo. Um pouco de coerência seria bom para que os jogadores descansassem um pouco. Vamos usar todos aqueles que estiverem se sentindo bem. Se um ou outro estiver muito desgastado, com probabilidade de lesão, vamos trocar. Temos um elenco que dá para fazer isso.
Mas, pelo menos por ora, o comandante tricolor quer saborear a vitória ao lado de sua equipe.
– Vitórias e uma classificação difícil como essa, contra um adversário muito bom, precisam ser comemoradas. Nós temos que aproveitar esse gostinho, esse sabor da vitória, da superação.
