Em apresentação, Thiago Silva agradece torcida e pessoas ligadas ao seu retorno: “Hoje somos realidade”
Com festa condizente ao tamanho do atleta, a torcida Tricolor recebeu o defensor Thiago Silva em um Maracanã lotado de torcedores que gritavam o nome do zagueiro em alto e bom som. Aqueles que estiveram no estádio puderam presenciar, dentre muitos momentos emocionantes, o discurso do jogador no meio de campo do Maracanã.
Em suas primeiras palavras, vestindo oficialmente e publicamente a camisa do Flu, Thiago fez questão de fazer uma série de agradecimento aos que estiveram envolvidos no seu processo de retorno, bem como ao seu ex-clube, o Chelsea.

“Boa noite, maraca!
Primeiramente, eu gostaria de agradecer a Deus por ter me proporcionado mais uma vez vestir essa camisa tão importante. Me sinto muito orgulhoso de pela segunda vez vestir esse uniforme.
Segundo, agradecer minha família por estar comigo em todos os momentos, são a coisa mais importante que eu tenho. Ficar longe deles não vai ser fácil, mas independente da distância faremos todo esforço para estarmos juntos.
Gostaria de agradecer o Chelsea FC por ter me proporcionado um momento incrível. Vocês sabem que meu contrato ia até dia 30 junho e em nenhum momento eles negaram fazer essa apresentação pra vocês hj.”
Ainda no gramado do estádio, o zagueiro finalizou os agradecimentos e afirmou que “agora somos realidade”, em alusão ao sonho da repatriação do atleta, que estava há 16 anos na Europa.
“Queria agradecer também ao presidente Mário pelo esforço e não ter desistido do nosso sonho. Hoje somos realidade, vamos trabalhar em prol do Fluminense. Obrigado por estarem comigo. Enfim, voltei, o monstro voltou.”
No final, Thiago Silva citou sua despedida do Flu em 2008, onde na época esteve dentro daquele mesmo Maracanã com seu filho recém nascido, que atualmente está adolescente.
“Quando eu deixei esse clube meu filho tinha 21 dias, hoje ele tem 15 anos de idade. Isso com certeza marcou a vida dele e vai marcar a de toda torcida Tricolor também.”
O defensor de 39 anos se torna mais que oficialmente novo reforço do Time das Laranjeiras, e deve em breve iniciar os trabalhos junto ao grupo de jogadores para integrar o elenco e, assim que for regularizado, estreiar novamente no Fluminense.
