De virada, os moleques de Xerém derrotaram o Flamengo por 2×1 com gols de Gabryel Martins e Luan Brito e venceram sua segunda partida no Campeonato Carioca Sub-20. A vitória manteve o ótimo retrospecto em 2021 de não perder nenhum Fla-Flu em nenhuma categoria em 2021.

Com relação ao último jogo, o Flu entrou em campo com Aleksander no lugar de Edinho (que tomou o vermelho contra o Macaé).
Primeiro Tempo
Os primeiros 10 minutos fora de muito estudo entre ambas as equipes. Não teve um domínio preponderante de nenhum dos times e de chances claras de balanças as redes nas Laranjeiras.
Aos 13 minutos, a primeira oportunidade. Boa jogada de Cauã que tocou para Jhonny, que avançou e cruzou para Miguel Vinicius, que de frente para o gol, soltou a direita para o gol, mas o defensor rubro-negro se tacou na frente e salvou o Flamengo.
Com 20 minutos, antes da parada técnica para hidratação, o Flu novamente chegou ao gol. O camisa 10 Yago Ferreira arriscou um chute de fora da área, mas a bola passou por cima da baliza.
No minuto 27, a melhor chance da partida. Em falta cobrada perto da área por Yago, o goleiro João Fernando fez uma ótima defesa, salvando o adversário. Aos 30, mais uma boa oportunidade do tricolor. Cauã novamente faz boa jogada pela esquerda, puxou para o meio e rolou para Gabryel Martins, que chutou forte, mas o goleiro defendeu.
Aos 31, o Flamengo abre o placar nas Laranjeiras. O camisa 8 Max, fez um golaço. Na primeira finalização dos adversários na direção do gol, o garoto acertou um chute de rara felicidade, colocando a bola no ângulo do goleiro Thiago, que nada pode fazer.
No minuto seguinte, cartão amarelo para Marcos Pedro após falta pesada em Gabriel Barros.
Com 37 minutos jogados, Jhonny avançou sozinho pela direita e cruzou rasteiro visando Gabryel Martins. O zagueiro Luan, na hora de cortar, quase colocou contra o próprio patrimônio. No minuto seguinte, o volante flamenguista Lucas André, tomou o cartão amarelo após cometer a terceira falta em Cauã.
Após dois minutos de acréscimo, o árbitro encerrou o primeiro tempo. Na saída para o vestiário, o volante Aleksander conversou com a repórter da FluTV, Carla Matera:
“Fizemos um bom primeiro tempo. Começamos marcando muito Agora é ir para o vestiário é ouvir o que o professor tem a dizer. E dentro de campo mostrar. Vamos continuar fazendo boas. Vamos mudar esse jogo e sair com a vitória.”
Segundo Tempo
Ambas as equipes retornaram para a segunda etapa sem alterações em suas formações. Nos primeiros 12 minutos, o jogo continuou equilibrado. O Fluminense continuou tendo algumas boas chegadas, mas não conseguindo finalizar à gol. O rubro-negro apostava mais nos contra-ataques.
O Flamengo fez duas alterações. E no lance seguinte, o time chegou com perigo com Werton e quase ampliou. Aos 15 minutos, Cauã fez uma boa jogada pela esquerda e finalizou à gol. O goleiro flamenguista defendeu com segurança.
Com isso, o Fluminense realizou sua primeira mudança. Luan Brito foi chamado por Eduardo Oliveira. O camisa 19 entrou no lugar de Yago Ferreira. Um meia por um atacante com mais presença na área. Aos 18, o Fluminense roubou a bola na saída de bola adversária, e Gabryel Martins, arriscando de fora, chutou com perigo, mas a bola passou por cima do gol.
Aos 19 minutos, o Flu impôs uma pressão na saída de bola rubro negra que surtiu efeito. Marcos Pedro roubou uma vez e Miguel Vinicius a outra. O camisa 9 ainda teve uma oportunidade de finalizar, na entrada da área, mas foi travado pela zaga adversária. Com 20 minutos, a melhor oportunidade do Fluminense no jogo. Gabryel Martins puxou pela direita, cruzou e Luan Brito se antecipou e cabeceou, conforme o protocolo, no chão e a bola beijou a trave esquerda. Após o lance, o juiz chamou a parada técnica.
Com 22 minutos, Gabriel Barros levou cartão amarelo por impedir o Flu cobrar o lateral com rapidez.
Aos 26, Jhonny sofreu pênalti. Ele ganhou a disputa com Italo, mas sofreu a carga e foi derrubado. Na cobrança, Gabryel Martins, colocou, goleiro de um lado e bola para o outro, e empatou o jogo para o Fluminense. 1×1 nas Laranjeiras. Esse foi o segundo gol do jovem no torneio carioca.

Com 31, o Fluminense virou o jogo! Miguel Vinicius puxou o contra-ataque e deu um passe de mestre para Luan Brito, por trás dos zagueiros, recebeu e colocou para o fundo das redes! Foi a virada do Flu nas Laranjeiras. 2×1! E muito merecido pelo quanto que o tricolor produziu na partida.

23 David José entrou no lugar do 7 Cauã. O zagueiro 14 André Damaceno ingressou no lugar do 11 Gabryel Martins.
Aos 40 minutos, o Flamengo chegou com perigo. O camisa 26 Weverton cabeceou uma bom cruzamento e a bola passou ao lado do gol defendido por Thiago. Com 43 jogados, David José tomou cartão amarelo. O árbitro deu mais sete minutos de acréscimo. No lance seguinte, Miguel Vinicius, exausto, deixou o gramado para a entrada do camisa 20 Abner, que fez sua estreia no time Sub-20. O jogador era remanescente do time campeão brasileiro Sub-17 na temporada 2020.
Aos 50 minutos, Abner tomou o cartão vermelho. Lance estranho e polêmico. O Flamengo veio para a pressão. Com 52, o goleiro Thiago fez duas defesas em lances complicados e salvou o Fluminense. Mesmo com o juiz dando quase 5 minutos além do que ele havia prometido, o árbitro levantou o braço e finalizou a partida em Laranjeiras.
