Na estreia, o Tricolor viajou para Lima, no Peru, e empatou com o Alianza Lima por 1 a 1, com o gol marcado por Marquinhos. A equipe chilena venceu na primeira rodada contra o Cerro Porteño em Santiago do Chile e lidera o Grupo A.
A delegação do Colo-Colo desembarcou no Rio de Janeiro no último domingo (7). A equipe treinou no CT do Flamengo. Antes do primeiro treinamento, Jorge Almirón, técnico do “El Cacique”, concedeu uma entrevista coletiva e deixou claro que está acompanhando o Fluminense desde a final da Libertadores de 2023, quando ele era técnico do Boca Juniors, adversário do Flu na decisão.
“Já nos enfrentamos, mas em outro momento. Não mudaram o elenco, exceto pela saída de Nino, um zagueiro que era capitão. O estilo de jogo deles está bem definido. Não estão mudando. Vamos passo a passo”, disse Almirón.

Para o confronto desta terça-feira, Maximiliano Falcón é a única dúvida de Almirón. De acordo com a imprensa chilena, o zagueiro titular, que participou da vitória do Colo-Colo contra o Cerro Porteño por 1 a 0 na primeira rodada da fase de grupos, está com dores no pé e no joelho.
