Exclusiva Saudações – André faz balanço sobre os aprendizados deixados em eliminação na Libertadores
Em 2021, o Fluminense voltou a disputar a Libertadores após oito anos de ausência. Na campanha, o Tricolor chegou às quartas de final e, por pouco, não avançou para a penúltima fase. De volta à competição neste ano, a equipe terá o Millonarios pela segunda fase – das três que antecedem à fase de grupos – e espera corrigir os erros de sua última participação. Em entrevista exclusiva para o Saudações Tricolores, o volante André falou sobre a experiência de disputar a competição, como titular pela primeira vez em sua carreira, e o que ficou de aprendizado na eliminação.
O Fluminense passou oito anos sem disputar a maior competição de clubes do continente. A espera chegou ao fim em 2021, quando a equipe finalizou sua campanha no Brasileirão 2020 na quinta colocação e conquistou a classificação para a Libertadores. O longo jejum não afetou os primeiros passos da campanha da equipe na competição. O Tricolor passou em primeiro lugar num grupo considerado difícil e passou pelo Cerro Porteño nas oitavas. Nas quartas, a equipe foi eliminada para o Barcelona de Guayaquil e deu adeus à competição.
Em sua segunda temporada como profissional do Time de Guerreiros, o volante André iniciou como mais uma opção no banco de reservas e no decorrer do ano, foi conquistando seu espaço entre os titulares da equipe. O jogador sequer foi relacionado para os primeiros cinco jogos do Flu na Libertadores e na fase de disputa por mata-mata, já entrou como titular. Ao todo, participou das quatro últimas partidas do clube na competição. Titular no jogo que culminou com a eliminação Tricolor, André falou sobre a queda e os aprendizados que derrota trouxe para ele e para o próprio Fluminense. Confira:

“A eliminação doeu porque sabemos da importância que é disputar uma Libertadores, um sonho para nosso grupo, chegar na competição e brigar. Com certeza nós vamos dar nosso melhor para voltar a estar dentro dela, o Fluminense merece. Para o André a palavra é gratidão por fazer minha primeira temporada como jogador profissional, sou privilegiado por fazer parte disso. Aprendizados aqui eu adquiro todos os dias e busco ser minha melhor versão sempre”.
Na temporada 2021, o Flu conseguiu se classificar para a competição pelo segundo ano consecutivo. No entanto, desta vez a equipe terá de passar pela pré-Libertadores antes de chegar à fase de grupos. O primeiro adversário será o Millonarios-COL e o Tricolor decidirá a eliminatória em casa. A primeira partida está marcada para o dia 22 de fevereiro, às 21h30, no estádio El Campin, na Colômbia. A volta será em São Januário, no dia 1° de março, também às 21h30. Caso avance, o Flu terá pela frente o Atlético Nacional-COL ou o vencedor do confronto de primeira fase entre Olímpia-PAR e Universidad César Vallejo-PER.
