Na tarde deste domingo (05), o Fluminense enfrentou o Bahia, na Arena Fonte Nova, em partida válida pela trigésima sétima rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro e saiu derrotado por 2 a 0. Os gols foram marcados por Gilberto ainda no primeiro tempo para o time adversário.

Sem poder contar com Marlon e David Braz, Marcão optou pela escalação de Danilo Barcelos e Manoel. Dessa forma, esses foram os onze iniciais:
Marcos Felipe, Samuel Xavier, Luccas Claro, Manoel e Danilo Barcelos; Wellington, Andre e Yago Felipe; Caio Paulista, Luiz Henrique e Fred.

Primeiro tempo:
Os 45 iniciais foram marcados por uma partida muito abaixo do Fluminense. Aos dois minutos de jogo, após levantamento na área, Fred recebeu a bola livre, mas desperdiçou a chance de gol. Depois disso, o confronto foi dominado pelo Bahia que viu o Flu só assistir o jogo. Marcos Felipe foi o responsável pela manutenção do zero no placar. Porém, aos 35 minutos, Luccas Claro cometeu penalti após interceptar a bola com a mão após escanteio. Na marca da cal, Gilberto abriu o placar. Ainda no primeiro tempo, depois de falha da defesa Tricolor, Gilberto aproveitou a oportunidade e ampliou o marcador para 2 a 0 aos 46 minutos.
Segundo tempo:
Para a segunda etapa, Marcão promoveu as entradas de Martinelli e Cazares nos lugares de Caio Paulista e Andre. Logo no início, aos 6 minutos, Yago Felipe finalizou a bola na trave. As mudanças fizeram o Fluminense mudar de postura. Aos 17 minutos o Bahia ameaçou. Em contra ataque, Capixaba ficou cara a cara com Marcos Felipe que defendeu a finalização. Aos 20 minutos, após briga, Manoel e Rossi foram expulsos. Aos 28 minutos, Marcão optou pelas entradas de Matheus Ferraz, Lucca e Bobadilla nos lugares de Fred, Wellington e Luiz Henrique. Mesmo precisando do resultado, o Fluminense não ofereceu problemas ao adversário e saiu derrotado por 2 a 0.
Com o resultado, o Fluminense entra na última rodada com chances de classificação direta para a fase de grupos da Libertadores e dependendo apenas de suas forças para se classificar para a pré fase da Libertadores. Fluminense e Chapecoense se enfrentam às 21:30, no estádio do Maracanã.
